According to a dictionary, folklore is "the science of the traditions, customs and popular art of a country". The word was invented in the 19th century when, due to modernisation, one took conscious of the wealth of a universe we already felt threatened with disappearance. After the 2nd Word War the phenomenon is confirmed as almost non-reversing. In 1947 Lisieux founds a "folkloric" group destined to become the ambassador through out Normandy and also in foreign countries of the ancient popular culture and attachment to the soil.
